Coil America

The year is 2947. Humanity suffered through a climate crisis in 2104, but one man, Dr. Alexander Jonathan Basse, was able to solve it through sheer genius and skill, while simultaneously developing a cure to what humans naturally seem to despise: death. Now, the doctor has become something of a living legend. However, one day, a gang of mobster goons turn the entire world upside down: not only are they able to kill Dr. Basse, but they discover a new form of oil made from the corpses of humans long ago, aka coil. 50 years after the discovery of coil, Lance Killrow is forced to work on the Coil America oil rigs to provide for his family. After an unfortunate accident while working, Lance discovers that he is the reincarnation of Dr. Basse (made possible through the cure for death), and that it is up to him to usurp the mob (which has now become a dictatorship in charge of the entire planet) and save the world. But, as Lance continues in his journey, he starts to wonder: is living forever even worth it? Or is dying permanently what makes people truly alive?

Plays

Mark, a convicted “Frankensteinian” scientist, tries to go back and undo everything that has led him to this point in his life. A dark tale, he struggles to pinpoint where exactly it all went haywire, going further and further back in time to stop future events from happening. Whatever he does, though, it always ends up the same. He has to accept his past, and instead, look towards the future—to finally move on and be let out of this prison cell, both physically…and metaphorically.
